Just like every other year, this year I set big goals for myself but found myself looking back and seeing some of the same resolutions year after year.
What I realized was that although I was doing many of the right things like identifying what I what I wanted and why I wanted them – I was making one big mistake! I kept looking backwards at where I went wrong and by doing that I was attracting more of what I didn’t want in my life. Even though I made this impressive vision board which sits in front of my desk as a daily reminder, my mind keeps examining my past which in turn lowers my vibration for what I do want.
All that said, sometimes we have to look back in order to understand ourselves more clearly but we must not stay there. We have to consistently monitor our thoughts and redirect otherwise we are going to stay stuck. It’s one of the many things I knew I needed to do to fail-proof my resolutions. You see I am REALLY REALLY good at one thing! That is over-analyzing my past mistakes or failures which has led to many self-limiting beliefs. This habit was keeping me stuck. Like DREADFULLY stuck! UGH!!!
So why did I believe this to be true? I believe in the words of wisdom from Law of Attraction and the Bible and also invested in a coach to steer me in the right direction.
I am a firm believer that the Bible and the Law of Attraction are manuals given to us to help guide us through life. Many people believe the Law of Attraction is evil because it focuses on material things. This is not how I interpret the laws and in fact I can always find a reference from the Laws in the Bible so I use them both as my guides. The Law of Attraction may not use the same words as the Bible but it is giving us the same message.
WISDOM FROM THE LAW OF ATTRACTION
As Abraham-Hicks said “if you examine your history, you cannot help but repeat it! Law of Attraction says it is so: “Whatever I am looking at, I am including in my vibration.” More on vibrations in a later post….
WISDOM FROM THE BIBLE
MY PLAN TO FAIL-PROOF RESOLUTIONS
- STAYING FOCUSED ABOUT MY DESIRED OUTCOME AND THE WHYS BEHIND THEM
- FOLLOWING A REALISTIC ACTION PLAN FOR ACCOMPLISHING MY GOALS
- IDENTIFYING MY TRIGGERS FOR SLIP-UPS AND HAVE A PLAN TO DEAL WITH THEM
- AND MOST IMPORTANTLY… I AM NO LONGER LOOKING IN THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR
Okay, so NOW that I am fool-proofing my resolutions by looking forward and raising my vibrations, I am wondering if this resonates with you and what plans you have put in place to fail-proof your resolutions?
